BISHOP GRAVES ISSUES GUIDELINES FOR RE-OPENING
As we prepare to reopen in-person worship, we have carefully been attending to guidance given by Bishop David Graves. Bishop Graves originally suspended worship services through April, extended suspension through May and unfortunately has extended it again indefinitely.
We will take every precaution to keep worshipers safe and to provide an environment in which we can gather with family and worship God without needlessly placing others at risk. We have already begun consulting with our insurance carrier to mitigate liability concerns. We have been in regular communication with county officials. We
are preparing a team to plan re-opening. We will consider ways to maintain social distancing in the way we seat worshipers, providing temperature checks, requiring face masks, disinfecting the sanctuary, disinfecting bathrooms between each use, replacing hymnals with bulletins with printed songs and many other possible precautions.
Thank you for your wisdom, courage and patience as we navigate the current challenge. To keep up with all things related to our church and COVID-19, please pay close attention to our church Facebook page ("First United Methodist Church of Marianna") and to church-wide emails we send you.
