What is Prayer Shawl Ministry?! Prayer Shawl Ministry is a way of providing God's message of loving care and grace through a special group of FUMC members to people in need of prayer, comfort, and support. Our Prayer Shawl Ministry was started in October of 2011 and is part of an international movement." Many UMC's are providing this type of care. Prayer Shawls, Stoles, and Lap Covers are given to wrap a person in warmth and prayer as they undergo an illness, surgery, loss or other difficult situations. These items may also be given for celebrations such as baby blankets for births, or sending a young person off to college with a stole in college colors, etc... This is both a care and outreach ministry. Our group has given 84 Shawls to provide comfort, care, and love to persons in need. This ministry is open to all who knit and crochet, regardless of skill level. If you want to learn to
knit or crochet, several group members can tea ch basic knitting or crocheting, as needed. We welcome new knitters, financial donations, or donations of yarn." Our group meets weekly in the Wesley Center Parlor :"
1:30 P.M. -Wednesdays when Wednesday Nite Live is not in session."
3:00 P.M. -Wednesdays when WNL is in session."
